amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (n.)[amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 词源字典]: by 1881, from French, first word from Greek a-, privative prefix, + mys, myos "muscle" (see muscle (n.)) + trophikos "feeding," from trophe "nourishment" (see -trophy).
